Biography:

Nancy R. Hernandez (D-I-C), is a Colonie Real Estate Broker with 20 years of experience. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Albany and has worked as an administrator for the NYS Dept. of Civil Service, Dept. of Social Services, Office for the Aging, and the Facility Development Corporation. She has also taught Spanish grammar and literature for five years at Loudonville Christian School.

Nancy and her husband David have raised four loving children: Jonathan (22) a 2003 Shaker graduate who attends Northeastern University, Juliana (20) a 2005 Shaker graduate who attends the College of St. Rose, Daniel (15) a 9th grader at Shaker and Gabriella (11) a 6th grader at Loudonville Elementary school.

As Councilwoman, Nancy is a member of the legislative, appropriating, governing, and policy-determining body of the Town. She's responsible for appointing all non-elected officers and employees of the Town. She acts on the budget recommended by the Town supervisor as well as approving budget modifications or transfers. She assists in the creation of non-compensatory advisory boards and, along with the Supervisor, appoints their members. As Deputy Supervisor, she will assume the role of the Supervisor for the Town upon the absence of the Supervisor.
