Ice Storm Debris and Yard Waste Collection Program 2009
UPDATE
The Town forces will be completing the final sweep through the Town undertaking the collection of the Ice Storm Debris until May 15, 2009. The Town has collected and processed thousands of cubic yards of wood debris from the Ice Storm that were collected in the prior four sweeps through the Town since this effort was begun in January 2009. All wood debris that is brought out to the curb for collection after May 15, 2009 will be required to be prepared in accordance with the collection requirements of the Town's Yard Waste Collection program or the residents may bring these materials into the Town Yard Waste Composting Facility themselves. Acceptance of the wood debris materials in the Yard Waste Composting Facility will be in accordance with the 2009 Facility Fee Schedule.
We appreciate the cooperation of our residents and businesses in preparing their leaf and yard waste materials in accordance with the requirements of the Yard Waste Collection Program and the Private Contractor's assistance in coordinating the managing of the ice storm debris materials and the yard waste materials through the two separate collection efforts.
The Private Collection Contractor is able to accept leaves, grass and light brush materials prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Yard Waste Program: i.e. in brown biodegradable paper bags or in rigid containers of less than 32 gallons in volume and weighing less than 40 pounds. Residents should bundle light brush of less than 3” in diameter and 4 foot in length and tie with twine.
