PAULA MAHAN ANNOUNCES 35th ANNUAL FISHING CONTEST
Colonie Town Supervisor Paula A. Mahan today announced that the Town of Colonie will host the 35 th Annual Colonie Fishing Contest on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Colonie Town Park on Schermerhorn Road from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“I am excited to announce the upcoming 35 th Annual Town of Colonie Fishing Contest,” Mahan said. “Young Colonie residents, between the ages of 5 and 15, will be able participate in a competitive outdoor event that promises to be a lot of fun; someone could even catch ‘the big one'. ”
According to Mahan, the contest will be co-sponsored by the West Albany Rod and Gun Club. Prizes, including fishing rods and reels, lures and tackle boxes, will be donated by various merchants and will be awarded to all age groups.
To be eligible, one must be a resident of the Town of Colonie and be between the ages of 5 and 15. Each contestant must supply his/her own equipment and bait. Registration for the contest, to be held rain or shine, will be taken at the Colonie Town Park on the day of the contest. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
